| St. Louis the King Catholic Elementary School
was founded in 1965. The family-like setting affords each teacher
the opportunity to know and understand the students as individuals
recognizing their strengths and potentials. Located in Glendale
Arizona, St. Louis the King School provides a well-rounded program
that combines quality academics with the ability to grow spiritually,
emotionally and socially and to share those gifts and talents
with family, school and community. |

| St. Louis the King School encompasses kindergarten through
eighth grade. The highly experienced faculty and administrative
staff are dedicated to providing a vastly academic education
and an appreciation of the fine arts within a diverse culture. |

Kindergarten
Primary academic, social and physical fitness skills are the
focus of our full day kindergarten program. Designed to awaken
young minds, the kindergarten program provides an academic classroom
environment with many resources and learning centers. |

Systematic math and phonics instruction introduces students
to the basic principles of arithmetic and reading. Kindergarten
students are taught Christian friendships, trust and love and,
a sense of awareness that they are special children of God. |
Elementary
St. Louis the King's broad.based elementary curriculum includes
religion, reading, language arts, math, social studies, science,
foreign language, computer training, handwriting, P.E., and
music.
Science instruction includes many hands-on experiments. Students
are encouraged to work independently as well as in groups
and learn to interact constructively. Character values are
reinforced both in and out of the classroom. Traditional religious
practices and celebrations are taught and experienced throughout
the liturgical year. Sacramental programs are offered to the
Second and Third grade. Our physical fitness program emphasizes
motor skills and cardiovascular development.

Junior High
Junior high students have numerous opportunities to develop
leadership skills including participation in St. Louis the
King's student council. The Junior high curriculum includes
religion, reading, language arts, math, social studies, science,
foreign language, computers, technology, physical fitness
and music. Classes are departmentalized and students typically
work above grade level in most academic subjects. |
After School Activities
The interscho lastic athletic program and the after school
clubs of the Catholic Schools is an integral part of the educational
program at St. Louis the King. Guided by the Catholic Youth
Athletic Association, the school sports program offers a wide
range of athletics promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and fun.
Other clubs such as Chess are also offered. |
