ST. LOUIS THE KING SCIENCE FAIR
This year's science fair showcased many wonderful, imaginative and informative science projects. From mummified hotdogs to glowing pickles, the kids showed that science can definitely be cool. Congratulations to the students who took First, Second and Third Place honors: Jessica Schaffer (8th Grade), Ileana Garcia (7th Grade) and Mariana Angulo (7th Grade).
GRANT AWARDS BRING TECHNOLOGY INTO THE CLASSROOM!
As the result of two grants awarded to St. Louis the King Catholic School this year, each classroom (Pre-K through 8th Grade) will be equipped with a new teacher laptop, interactive projector and document camera by the end of this school year. Interactive projectors are similar to SmartBoards in that they allow teachers and students to actively participate with a projected image while document cameras are capable of displaying two and three dimensional objects (whether stationary or moving) in bigger and much more noteworthy ways than a traditional overhead projector. These multi-media resources will provide students with the opportunity to interact in real time with information, concepts and lessons. Our sincerest appreciation goes to the grantors: Our Lady of Joy Parish in Carefree and The Catholic Community Foundation's Youth Ambassador Association.
